Wow, we just keep going & going...
1st the Children's Auction furniture donation, the associated press coverage and the resulting Chamber of Commerce 'Tool Belt' Award, followed our 1st bob house radio promotion and then the construction of the replica Green Monster at Robbie Mills Field.

We then somehow executed a fun golf tournament and then a phenomenal Parade of Homes campaign, the later producing unmatched qualified prospect traffic for participating builders...
...FOLLOWED by a home run with a matching Children's Auction TV Production set backdrop or surround! Steve Custance & Family designed & built an amazing modular wall system. The Auction Staffers were thrilled, the Auction raising $416,500.00. What a tribute to area builders, all LRBRA Members and to this entire community!

JUST A FEW of the LRBRA volunteers that made the Auction Surround donation possible..
Next up, the 2nd annual LRBRA-Huot bob house building project, to be built by (new Board Member) Larry Greeley of Tradesmen Builders Corp. This year's bob house project is better for the Meredith Rotary, better for Huot students & faculty and better for the lucky winner. We win, too, by engaging Huot Tech Center construction students and potential employees.
But wait, there's more! 
ALSO in the offing: Jason Hicks of Affiliate Meredith Village Savings Bank, serving the LR Habitat for Humanity, will join forces with our own John Robinson of Wood & Clay Fine Homes in a Humanity House project later this year.

With our new Binnie Media partnership and the promotional opportunities provided Local Chapter, locals and visitors alike will learn that LRBRA:
- Provides consumers access to professional, reputable building and remodeling contractors.
- Saves home buyers time and money on local construction projects.
Is an advocate for local homeowners, working to protect the mortgage interest deduction and to improve the current faulty appraisal process using distressed properties as comparables.
- Works with local high school technical centers, introducing students to prospective member builders for employment
- Hosts an annual golf tournament to benefit the WLNH Children's Auction and offers $1500 annual Trades Scholarship Program.

LRBRA Sweeps Cornerstone Awards!
The HBRANH Cornerstone Awards are presented yearly to recognize excellence in the NH building industry. Locally, the Lakes Region Chapter (LRBRA) members entered their best work, judged by industry professionals, a committee from the New Jersey. Our collective submissions to the 2012 HBRANH Cornerstone Awards resulted in terrific success...
Of the 67 Cornerstone Awards presented at the June 14th Awards Ceremony, LRBRA member companies earned a whopping 24 awards, almost 36% of the total! 12 Golds, 6 Silvers and 6 Bronze. The WLNH Children's Auction furniture donation, in addition to the January Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce Tool Belt Award, also earned us a 2011 HBRANH Cornerstone Gold Award in the Community Service Project category.
Further, our Chapter President, Julie Hayward, of Hayward & Company Log & Timber Homes was recognized as Builder Member of the Year !
LRBRA Members Build a Wall...
LRBRA Builders volunteered to frame, in a day, the entire Green Monster wall, with the assistance of donated crane services. The framing of a 12 foot deck supporting the structure and then plywood sheathing, followed by gallons of donated green paint covered the 3,200sq surface.
The the public was then invited to see the completed replica Green Monster Scoreboard on June 27th. The promotional event set attendance records as the community gathered to celebrate LRBRA's completion of Phase 1, the tickets FREE for all locals and visitors alike. Entire families and all their friends attended enjoying between-inning on-field events, games and competitions and took home some valuable prizes.The Muskrat Monster is nearly 20 feet tall and 90 feet long and is now the property of Lakes Region residents & visitors!

LRBRA Hosts a Terrific Golf Tourney...
A great August day for all 90++ players who graciously gave at every possible auction, raffle and contest, enabling the Association to collect over 3K in proceeds for our community outreach efforts & the Scholarship Program. Thanks go out to our Sponsors for their ongoing support and to the volunteers who gave time (off work!) that sunny day. We are truly proud to be part of this organization!

The Featured Speaker this month is Kim Fraze of Fraze Electric in Sandwich, NH.
Fraze will explain he economic value of solar photovoltaic systems - ground mounted, roof mounted and pole mounted arrays, the associated inverters and an all important cost analysis. Federal, State and local power company incentives will be discussed as well. Tips for builders to incorporate into the design process include the home's orientation to the sun, acceptable amounts of shade, roof pitches and more. The value of photovoltaic related heat pump and geothermal systems will be covered.
Such presentations on alternative energy sources fit well with today's LRBRA Member builders, many certified as Build Green NH Builders. Build Green NH certified builders are dedicated to adhering to green building guidelines for both building and remodeling. Cost effective solar photovoltaic systems, installed by LRBRA member companies, provide one solution enabling environmentally concerned consumers to achieve sustainable energy efficient homes.
